All About Skincare

All of us go through our teenage years knowing that somehow this seems as if it is the most difficult time of our lives. At the same time your body is changing and the skin is often going through quite a horrid time as well. That is where you can get the dreaded acne scars.

As if being able to get through your teenage years was not difficult enough, there are many people that have to then deal with the fact that they are going to have scars for the rest of their lives. It is like someone looking in the mirror every single day and being reminded of the awful time that they went through when they were a teenager. These acne scars are the result of people picking their pimples.

One does not think about this too much if you perhaps have just a couple of spots, but you are likely to see that hindsight is twenty twenty and no doubt you will realise that you should have left the blemishes alone. Now if one thinks about how many pimples acne causes then it is clear that the impact of scratching is compounded. Many people are likely to find that they will have these reminders for a very long time and it can lead to low self esteem.

These marks then serve as a constant physical reminder of what is essentially an emotional pain and it can become very difficult to deal with, especially later in life. As a result of this, people are often terribly insecure and they try to find any way possible to hide their scars. It doesn’t often work in the way that they might hope.

Make up is usually what a person would use and often people go to the extreme of putting too much make up on because they think that is what is needed to hide the blemish. Make up can definitely help but one does need to know what the best way of putting on make up is. In this way they could get better results.

The problem with putting on more make up than is necessary is that it can often make one’s  skin look worse than it already was. There are a number of creams which help replace the collagen in the skin and this builds up the skin again. In addition to this, these creams often also have other active ingredients that help to repair the scars.

There is hope for people with acne scars and they can go out in the knowledge that they will find something to take care of their problems. So there is a lot of work that needs to be done to educate more people about what there is to help them.

Acne Scar Removal

Acne Scars develop if acne becomes infected and the skin heals itself enough to remain healthy but leaves discoloured and / or pitted marks on the affected area, removing them is often both difficult and costly to get rid of.

There are lots of over the counter ‘cures’ for acne scars ranging from creams to micro-needling. The most commonly used treatments for acne scars are the creams or skin masks which can (but not always) work but take quite a while for any improvements to begin to show as a huge percentage of these creams are not absorbed by the skin. Creams are, therefore, wasted and so are not economical.

Another gadget that can be used to treat acne scars is the derma-roller. This is a roller for microneedling; you carefully roll the skin roller over the effected area of skin which opens the pores of your top layer of skin (epidermis) causing it to believe that it is damaged inducing the production of collagen and elastin which resulting in the damaged skin healing itself.

Using the derma roller causes the pores on the skin remain open for up to an hour so this is the best time to use creams as they are significantly better absorbed when the pores are open as opposed to when the pores are closed. This reduces the waste in creams and heightens the effectiveness of the derma roller.

There are more extreme methods to reduce acne scars however these are all expensive and have to be carried out by professionals and then they’re not even guaranteed to work! These include; Micro dermabrasion, laser treatments, chemical peals and also skin needling can be done by a professional more vigorously using a longer needle size and numbing cream.

In my experience in treating acne scars I have found that the most result effective and cost effective treatment is derma rolling at home as it is relatively cheap and as it works by inducing the healing process is the most natural way to heal acne scars.

Acne Scar Removal

Acne Scars form if acne becomes infected and the skin heals itself so that it remains healthy but leaves pigmented and / or indented marks on the affected area, they can be very difficult and expensive to get rid of.

Many ‘cures’ for acne scars can be purchased in a shop ranging from oils and creams to microneedling. The most regularly used treatments for acne scars are the creams or skin masks which can (but not always) work but take a long time for any results to start to show as a huge percentage of creams are not absorbed by the skin. Therefore creams are often wasted and so are not economical.

Another tool that can be purchased for acne scar removal is the skin roller. This is a device for microneedling; you gently roll the skin roller over the effected area of skin which opens the pores of your top layer of skin causing it to believe that it is injured activating the production of collagen and elastin which eventually heals the damaged skin.

Using the derma roller causes the pores on the top layer of skin remain enlarged for as long as so this is the best time to apply creams as they are significantly better absorbed when the pores are open as opposed to when the pores are closed. This reduces the waste in creams and increases the effectiveness of the derma roller.
